To provide unbiased emotional support and resources by trained Parent Guides to families with children who have a hearing loss

What is a Parent Guide?

  • Someone who will listen, share resources and personal experiences in a knowledgeable and compassionate way

  • Someone who offers unbiased support

  • A parent who has firsthand experience from raising their own child who has a hearing loss

Who is eligible for the Guide By Your Side Program?

  • Illinois families and families receiving services in Illinois

  • Families who have a child who has a hearing loss or a hearing loss is suspected from birth through 21

IL E.A.R.S (Events And Resources Statewide) Newsletter

  • The IL E.A.R.S newsletter is produced by IL Hands & Voices, Guide By Your Side.  The newsletter has information for parents and professionals with contents that include events, resources and articles written by organizations, professionals and families with children who have a hearing loss.
